Stress Free Van Purchase
On arriving at Van Star Wakefield I was greeted by James, I was told to have a look round as the vans were open,if I
Required any assistance to just asked.I didn’t find exactly what I wanted,and told stock was changing daily,and check Website.
I only had to wait a day and something came up that I was interested in.I went over had a look and purchased the van.My van was taken in part exchange.
I picked the van up a couple of days later.I later noticed a problem that I hadn’t noticed when I first purchased van.
This was soon sorted by the Vanstar team.
I would highly recommend buying a Van,from Vanstar

Satisfied
Overall I was satisfied. However, I was disappointed for the fact that despite the sales staff agreeing few things they did not keep to their words e.g. we were promised foot matts, few minor adjustment that required were not done. As a result of this I have to book the van with the local garage as per their advise and we will have to get it sorted oursleves. Apart from that we are happy.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE
Bought a car from here after spending thousands of pounds. Had nothing but problems from the day it was purchased. Had to ring trading standards regarding the fault after having to pay again for my car to be fixed when BY LAW it should of been FREE OF CHARGE. AGAIN a fault is wrong with the car after not even having it 6 months. The attitude and coustmer service of the men that work in the office are vile. Gary makes me feel sick the way he speaks to women, Putting the phone down on me and speaking to me like rubbish, I’m now back to square one as I was weeks ago without a vechile that works!!! Completely discusting behaviour as a so-called reputable company STAY FAR AWAY DO NOT BUY ANY SORT OF VEICHLE FROM HERE!!! Once they have your money they do not care or care to help if anything goes wrong!!! Fuming!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬

Excellent customer service
Just got home in my new to me citroen relay. When I viewed a week ago I noticed one of the tyres was a bit low on tread. Didn't mention it at the time. When I went to pick up today they had put a brand new one on! Great people, thanks Garry, can't recommend highly enough.

no trust
travelled 4 hours to pick up a yellow focus st. on way home i noticed clutch slipping in harsh acceleration. agreed to pay for the part if i fitted it being a mechanic. the next day when the sun was out noticed loads of poor body repairs with the colours not even matching. as you get a 30 day consumer right to return the vehicle if not as advertised i used this to get a full refund. wouldn't buy from here again and wouldn't recommend them at all except for the fact they were willing to get the clutch repaired under the warranty. gutted about the car but i guess its why its so cheap compared to other yellow st's

I WENT TO LOOK AT THE VAN ON BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY ERIC THE SALES MAN ALTHOUGH VERY BUSY WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO GIVE AS MUCH TIME AS I WANTED WITH NO PRESSURE. ON RETURNING TO PICK THE VAN UP A FEW DAYS LATER EVERYTHING HAD BEEN DONE TO IT AS HAD BEEN DISCUSSED AND AT SHORT NOTICE HAD GOT THE VAN READY A DAY EARLY TO HELP ME OUT. 3 DAYS LATER I RANG UP THINKING I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE VAN WHICH WOULD HAVE COST ABOUT £300. TURNED OUT TO BE DOWN TO ME NOT LOOKING AT THE MANUAL. BUT BEFORE THIS CAME TO LIGHT ERIC STRAIGHT AWAY SAID TO GET A QUOTE FROM MY LOCAL GARAGE I USE AND THE WOULD PAY TO SAVE ME GOING ALL THE WAY BACK TO LEEDS. WASN,T NEEDED AS NO FAULT WITH THE VAN BUT GREAT TO KNOW THEY WOULD HAVE SORTED IT .

Good Guys do exist.
I'll keep it short. Brought my new van from Gary, great service no pressure, no B/S. He held the van for 3 weeks for me while my loan was going through as I cocked up a bit. Picked it up fully serviced and gleaming clean, all good and dandy until a week later when ready to leave a job and nothing! No dashboard lights, radio not even remote locking working. Called the AA out and while waiting called Gary. He suggested getting the AA to test the battery and if it's dead they would get me a new battery. Indeed the battery was dead but alternator working fine, the AA guy had one on his van so phoned Gaz but he wasn't there. The guy on the phone (Alan) asked what the problem was when I told him he said no problem if the AA will accept card over the phone he'd sort it out there and then. So, new battery all sorted and didn't have to lay out any money. Yes it was a bit inconvenient but can't fault the guys at Carstar for the after sales service, they couldn't have done any better. A lot of places wouldn't be so helpful. Cheers boys you've restored my faith in mankind, well at least for this week' lol. Merry Christmas.

Trading Standards
If you are thinking or have already purchased from these guys.
PLEASE get the vehicle checked.
I’m now talking to Trading Standards as they sold me a van that should of been crushed.
I suggest you get an expert to check any purchase from this company.
You get 6 months for major defects.
Please...please check I’m £4000 out of pocket now and these guys don’t care!

Carstar Leeds Some customers you just cant help ! .

Dear Mr Johnson ,

The van in question was purchased 6 months ago for the price of £2489 .
It is a 15 year old van which was a px to clear .. the van was ' sold as seen ' as a ' trade sale ' purchase with no warranty given or implied .. this is clearly written on your purchase invoice and is how we sell the old part exchange vans for clearance money.
The van had passed an mot test just 2 months prior to your purchase which was independent of Vanstar .. You have covered over 5000 miles ! in the past 6 months so it seems the van has been going fine .
You were rude to staff members when you first made contact , laying down what you were and were not going to do etc etc .. with the final ultimatum of a '" full and total refund or im off to trading standards ! " , we have no problem discussing the situation with trading standards they will conclude you are been un-reasonable requesting a full refund at this point .
We were and are happy to try and assist in a repair or a proportionate refund which would take into account the 6 months and 5000 miles of use-age you have had the benefit of .. but your full refund request and nothing less is not reasonable .. Please consider this is a 15 year old van sold as seen as a trade sale for £2489 ! .. there will be defects present and its life expectancy could well be limited as such .. as the price of the van was £2489 how could you ever be out of pocket for over £4000 ? .. that's impossible , makes no sense .

The van is booked in for a MOT and a second garage will provide a report on the condition of the van on the 10th January.

Lovely van . Great communication from Alan but I have to say a few things had to be sorted. Rubber seal on back door needed fixing. Broken clip on fuel cap cover means it keeps opening. Will have to fix. Stupid little things that could have been done. Have to say though, like someone else who left review about a van, service promised and unless they haven't given me the paperwork, it appears not to be done.

not the best service by far!
just bought a transit van which i was told would be serviced but has not, there were lots of small faults with the van which i have had to sort out in the first week of ownership.having traveled 300 miles to collect this vehicle i could not go back so in fairness they have not had a chance to put things right.my van obviously had not been checked over properly and i did not get any kind of apology but just made to feel like i was not telling the truth.
i will never be buying a vehicle from carstar again.

We bought a van from Vanstar, Garry the salesman was great no pushy sales tactics, gave us a fair price for our trade in.
